HARDWOODS

Quercus Forest Products Ltd holds a comprehensive stock of Commercial Hardwoods. Our Hardwood range complements Joinery and Furniture Manufacturers and the products associated to this sector.

We have a supply chain partnership with Select French Sawmills. This enables Quercus Forest Products Ltd the unique advantage of personally selecting it's European Oak Products in Square Edge, Boules, (waney edge) Fresh sawn Oak and Part – Dried Oak Beams, all with full PEFC™ Chain of Custody Certification.

This partnership enables Quercus FP Ltd to call on it's stock in France, available in a JIT Delivery schedule. This is enhanced with a regular stock delivery due to our rapid stock turnover.

We pride ourselves on our stock turn, which enables us to offer a JIT Delivery service even on non-stock items in all products.

The consistency in quality and supply is of paramount importance with regard to our purchasing strategy as well as our ecological principles.

Quercus' Core Hardwood range includes European Oak (Variety of grades), Sapele, Idigbo, Iroko, American Tulipwood, American White Oak, American Ash, American Cherry, American Black Walnut, Canadian Maple and European Beech.

Although the majority of our stock range is Sawn Hardwoods we also offer a bespoke machining service with a rapid turnaround. We also stock a range of Engineered Hardwood Products. From Solid Oak Strings and Newels for staircases to 3 laminated sapele stiles for Doors. Please give us a call for more details.

SOFTWOODS

Quercus Forest Products Ltd supplies a range of Clear and Joinery Softwoods.

Clear Softwoods

We supply a range of Clear Softwoods from Southern Yellow Pine, (ideal for staircases) to Douglas Fir (an excellent Joinery quality material) to Western Red Cedar (renowned for it's excellent properties for External Cladding).

Not only do we supply these materials Sawn (which are typically dimensional sizes) but we can offer the Cedar in a variety of cladding profiles.

Within this product range we are also able to offer bespoke machining with excellent lead times.

Joinery Softwoods

We stock a large range of dimensional sizes of Joinery Redwood (Unsorted Grade) for joinery applications.

We stock a range from 25mm thickness through to 100mm thickness in a variety of widths from 100mm to 225mm.

Unsorted grade is the highest quality of Sawn Redwood and is essentially a mixed grade of firsts through to fourths. Also, within our portfolio of Joinery Softwoods we stock Greensplit heart-free Joinery which is cut to avoid the heart therefore eliminating heart shake (splits).

All of the Joinery Softwoods come with FSC® or PEFC™ Certification (Full Chain of Custody).

PANEL PRODUCTS

Quercus Forest Products Ltd supplies a range of Panel Products.

MDF

We stock a wide range of MDF in both standard and moisture resistant in a range of thicknesses and sizes.

Plywood

We stock a range of Hardwood Plywood and Softwood Plywood both for external use. The Hardwood Plywood is typically a Far Eastern Tropical Red Hardwood but we do also carry Birch Plywood for higher quality applications. The Softwood Plywood is predominantly a Spruce or Elliottis Plywood. These are both suitable for external applications but are used in a construction capacity and are therefore not used for their aesthetics like the Hardwood Plywood.

Veneered Panel Products

We supply a variety of Veneered Panels on both MDF and Plywood substrates. The vast majority of Veneers are available on MDF. This is due mainly down to cost but also to the ease of manufacture and continuity of supply.

The range of Veneered MDF is limited to the main Commercial Hardwoods used within the Furniture Sector but can, on request, be specially laid up for Special Projects.

We also supply the Edging to complement the Veneered Panels.

As well as supplying Veneered Panels in the standard sheet sizes we have the facility to offer a cutting and edging service upon request.

All MDF comes with FSC® Certification and we seek to purchase Plywoods with Certification where we can.

BESPOKE MACHINING

Quercus Forest Products Ltd offers an exceptional Bespoke Machining Service with a rapid turnaround on Hardwoods, Softwoods and Panel Products.

We are able to offer machined goods to any profile in Hardwoods and Softwoods and also are able to offer a Cutting and Edging Service for Panel Products.

All of our machining / cutting services can be offered with quick turnaround times and the majority are turned around inside 1 week.

We are able to offer Machined Products with FSC® / PEFC™ Full Chain of Custody Certification.

We pride ourselves with the ability to offer a solution to Customers' problems and would love to hear from you should you have a bespoke project which requires something out of the ordinary.

FLOORING

Quercus Forest Products Ltd supplies a range of Quality Flooring Products. We supply Solid Hardwood Flooring in a variety of sizes, grades and specifications and we supply a selection of Engineered Flooring Products suitable for underfloor heating applications.

Solid Hardwood Flooring

We are able to supply standard Solid Hardwood Flooring in packs mass produced at very competitive prices. These are typically produced in short lengths and are end-matched. They are available in Unfinished, Lacquered and Oiled Finishes.

We can also supply Solid French Oak (By far the biggest selling Flooring product) Flooring in a range of widths with a length range slightly longer than the standard. This product is typically available in 3 grades ( Prime, Character & Rustic). This is also available 'off the shelf' for JIT Deliveries.

We can also in addition to the above products offer a French Oak Flooring Product with a much longer average length specification. This is subject to stock availability in France but could typically be 3.0 metres and longer.

We do not recommend Solid Hardwood Flooring for use with Underfloor Heating.

Engineered Hardwood Flooring

Quercus Forest Products Ltd offer an Engineered Flooring Solution which is constructed from a Plywood Base with a minimum 6mm Solid Hardwood Wear Layer. This product works and looks like a Solid Product but has the added benefit of being stable and can therefore be used with Underfloor Heating.

The specification on our Engineered Products is typically 1.8 metre lengths and are available in 180mm / 189mm widths. There is also (subject to stock) 240mm wide boards available.
