Quercus Forest Products are committed to purchasing and supplying Environmentally Responsible Products.

We understand the issues surrounding Forest Management and are committed to purchasing and supplying certified material. Responsible Forest Management is not only essential to our business but is critical in ensuring and maintaining the healthy Environment in which we live. In line with our commitment to responsible purchasing we also endeavour to fulfill environmental best practice with relation to recycling, transport and waste disposal.

We are committed to purchasing from managed forests which are both legal and responsible and have Chain of Custody Certification for both FSC® (FSC® C007915) and PEFC™ (PEFC/16-37-992).

In line with the forthcoming European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) [March 3rd 2013] Quercus Forest Products Ltd guarantees to our customers that any wood product we supply will have undergone a due diligence process to assure legality, based on all information available.

PURCHASING POLICY

Quercus Forest Products Ltd is committed to purchasing from legal and well-managed forests. Wherever possible we would seek to have full chain of custody certification through FSC® or PEFC™. If certification schemes are not available we endeavour to purchase from ethical companies and make efforts to ensure the products have come from legal and well-managed forests. The forthcoming EUTR due diligence legislation will enhance the legality and traceability of all timber products from outside of the EU. We support this and ensure to our customers all timber products will have undergone a due diligence process.

What is FSC?

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international organisation which promotes Responsible Management of the World's Forests. They have been established since 1993 and are the most widely recognised forest certification scheme. The scheme is supported by amongst others: WWF, GreenPeace and the UK Government's Central Point of Expertise of Timber (CPET).

What is PEFC™?

The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC™) is an Independent, Non-Profit Organisation promoting Sustainable Forest Management through Independent Third Party Certification. PEFC™ is the World's largest Certification scheme with over 200 Million Hectares of Certified Forests. PEFC™ is also endorsed by the UK Government's CPET.
